PARADISE LOST 🇩🇪 at BiB:OA 2024!
PARADISE LOST 🇬🇧 headline Friday on BADEN IN BLUT Festival 2024!
“The cult band PARADISE LOST is an English gothic metal band, which is considered one of the pioneers of the death doom genre and thus also the main influencing factor for the later gothic metal movement. Many well-known bands like My Dying Bride, Amorphis, Cradle Of Filth or Katatonia name the band around the two main composers, frontman Nick Holmes (Bloodbath) and sidekick Greg Mackintosh (Strigoi), as the main influence. The line-up of the band, which was founded in Halifax in 1988, has remained stable for such a long-standing heavy metal band - guitarist Aaron Aedy and bassist Steve Edmondson have also been with the band for many years. From the original death/doom metal of the early days, to the iconic ‘Gothic’ album, which can be understood as the cornerstone of an entire musical style, to the super works ‘Icon’ (1993) and the album of the century ‘Draconian Times’ (1995), one amazing development, which today almost ties back to the harder and darker direction of the early days. In 2022, Paradise Lost stand for what they do best: a mixture of death/doom and gothic metal, rousingly performed and with a lot of old and new hits in the program! After one year of postponing the appearance, we are proud to be able to present a band that has accompanied many of us for many years and inspires us again and again. In late 2023 the band published their re-recording of the 30 year old Icon album and will for sure play some of these classics on our stage. Look forward to ‘Blood and Chaos’ at Baden in Blut - Friday 2024!
