Why Baden in Blut?
It's simple, really: your festival with heart and soul from South Baden. In German, Herzblut – heart's blood – means passion. We love puns.
Metal music rubs people the wrong way and stirs up controversy. We fans love and live the music and dive right into it. From the outside it can look strange, even violent. Look closer and you find one big community – and that is exactly why it is relaxed, harmonious and peaceful.
We never meant "Blut" (blood) in a physical sense, but as a metaphor for life. No blood, no life. As early as 2007, one of our first festival shirts said "Blut ist Leben" – blood is life. The name stands for the passion and the Herzblut of metal fans.
Today the name is known not only in Germany but across Europe – for a festival that, for two decades, has been bringing life to Baden with passion and dedication, made by music fans for music fans. We are proud of that.

Baden in Blut 2026 - News before the festival

In the tri-border area, right next to Basel and France. A large green park with trees, ponds and gardens, laid out for the 1999 state garden show. Big car park right at the grounds, easy to reach by bus and train. No campsite – sleeping in your car on the car park is allowed.
