Founding member

A club.Metal music as a passion.

Our goal is to bring the metal scene in Lörrach and the surrounding area to life and to give fans of heavier sounds a place to go. Baden in Blut, the Metal Café and Blood Battle are not run by a corporation or investors but by a club of fans.

Our story

  1. 2000/2001

    First ideas of founding a metal club. We meet at festivals, concerts and parties to experience them together.

  2. July 2002

    The members are set and the club is founded unofficially. Our first website goes online at the end of 2002.

  3. 2004

    Metal Meating, the first concert we organise. The same year the Metal Café starts in Lörrach.

  4. 2005

    Hallenblutbad and the first Baden in Blut Open Air, back then with 350 visitors.

  5. 25.11.2006

    Founding assembly. Growing concerts and the festival make a proper club necessary for insurance and liability reasons. The statutes are adopted and the first board appointed.

  6. 23.02.2007

    Entry in the register of associations. Since then we are “Metal Maniacs Markgräflerland e.V.”

  7. Today

    A Metal Café that has become a fixture in Lörrach, and a Baden in Blut known far beyond Baden. (Hence the festival's name.)

Thank you, crew!

First we thank our partners and families, who have our backs all year or, caught by festival fever themselves, rock this festival with us for hours on end: at set-up, the beer and cocktail stands, merch, IT and the box office. We love you and are very grateful for everything you do!

Special thanks go to our "Edel-Helfer": year after year eating dust for days, staying in hotels at their own expense, travelling for hours. The second row of the Maniacs, who ask for nothing and only give. That is incredibly valuable and cannot be paid for.
