What to do in severe weather and thunderstorms
What to do when a severe weather warning is issued at Baden in Blut: information channels, shelter, hazard lights and refunds of deposits and remaining credit.
What to do in the event of a specific severe weather warning?
Have you noticed that thunderstorms and severe weather have been getting more intense in recent years? As an open air, we are directly affected. All of us need to be better prepared for such situations and know what to do.
How we will inform you
In the event of severe weather, we will try to inform you immediately through all the channels available to us:
- LCD screen in front of the stage
- Stage announcements
Storm? Hail? Heavy rain? Thunderstorm? We will try to tell you what to expect.
What you should do
How best to behave depends on your situation. Here are the possible scenarios.
Calmly but firmly leave the festival grounds
- Leave the festival grounds in an orderly manner.
- Do not worry about your deposit and remaining credit, we will sort that out (see below).
- Follow the instructions of the security staff and the crew.
- Take the situation seriously.
Help each other as best you can!
Are you here with your own car?
Go straight to your car in the car park. Apart from a house, it is the safest shelter.
Do you have free seats in your car?
- Ask other metalheads whether they need shelter.
- Switch on your hazard lights when you are in the car, to signal to other festival visitors without a car that they can find shelter with you.
- Get together and finish your drink in safety.
Do you live right next to the festival?
If you can get home in a short time, please do so. There is no safer place! If possible, take people without a car with you and offer them shelter.
No car?
- Look out for vehicles with hazard lights on. There is room in those vehicles to wait out the storm.
- Stay close to buildings and look for a shelter.
- If you are near the car park: hazard lights switched on signal free seats in the cars.
Afterwards
Keep an eye on our social media channels. We will continuously publish the current status there, along with information on what happens next, including whether and when the festival will resume.
What about my deposit and remaining-credit cards?
Once the danger has passed, we will try to resume the concerts. We will inform you directly or via social media on Facebook and Instagram. In any case we will open the cash desk so that you can have your deposit and remaining-credit cards paid out.
What if the concerts do not resume?
Even then we will open the voucher cash desk to pay you out. If the festival is called off, you can in any case still get your remaining credit and deposit paid out on Sunday morning.
